Nigerian court sentences 3 to death for murder

Three middle-aged men have been sentenced to death by a Delta State High Court, after they were found guilty of murder and armed robbery.
The convicts, Moses Etisi, Sunday Shebobo and Moses Pender Otobrise had been facing trial for the murder of one Sunday Ibru Oduaran after robbing him of his motorcycle in July 2008.

The fourth accused person, Daniel Ejesemephia, however, escaped the wrath of the law as the court discharged and acquitted him for want of sufficient evidence linking him to the crime.
The three convicts were said to have killed their victim for resisting attempts to dispossess him of the new motorcycle, which they eventually took away and attempted to sell.
But luck ran out on them as they were arrested by the local vigilance group in the area following reports by a motorcycle dealer who they attempted to sell the stolen motorcycle to.
The dealer was said to have reported the matter due to disagreement over the high price tag placed on the motorcycle by the hoodlums.
