Cop dismissed for killing final year student

Justice seems to be coming the way of the Momodus, as the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, has dismissed a police corporal, Amadi Idahosa, who allegedly  killed Ibrahim Momodu, a final year student of the University of Benin.

Ibrahim was shot on May 27 allegedly by policemen, led by CSP Carol Afegbai and later secretly buried at 3rd Cemetery, Benin.
Following protests from the family and Civil Society groups, the body of Ibrahim Momodu was exhumed for autopsy.
According to Police sources, Corporal Amadi was dismissed after an orderly room trial, which found him guilty of killing the student. With his dismissal, he is to face prosecution at the law court.
Corporal Amadi was an orderly to Mrs. Carol Afegbai, who was the Divisional Police Officer of Ogida Police Station at the time of the incident.
Police sources said Corporal Amadi was found to have pulled the trigger that killed Ibrahim despite earlier claims by Afegbai that she shot Ibrahim on the legs.
When contacted, Spokesman for Edo State  Police Command, Moses Eguaveon said the police would not condone injustice.
