Road accident claims 5 lives in Okada town

Five persons have been reportedly killed in a road accident that occurred near Okada  Junction, off Benin-Lagos Expressway. The victims were said to be heading towards Okada town when their car hit a stationery lorry, killing four of the passengers instantly.

One of the passengers was said to have died on the way to the hospital while two others survived with serious injuries. Meanwhile, families of the accident victims have slammed operators of the motor park for allowing the driver of the vehicle to carry passengers when they knew his health condition.
Commenting on the accident, Coordinator General of Save Accident Victims of Nigeria (SAVAN), Dr. Eddy Ehikhamenor said an alleged epileptic patient ought not to have been allowed to drive.
According to him, such a person was worse than a drunk on the highway because he could not control a vehicle in motion in the event of seizure.
