Cultists kill 3 in Ogun

No fewer than three persons were on Wednesday, killed by gunmen suspected to be cultists in Ogun State, south west Nigera.
The attack, which occurred in broad day at Ajegunle-Ijada and Ishado areas of the metropolis, left several others seriously injured.

Two of the victims were said to be  apprentices, who met their death in their respective shops.
Investigation revealed that the victims, identified as Lekan Ojaewele, 22 and Muyiwa Adeyemi (20) were killed after the cultists missed their masters, who were said to be their principal targets.
While Lekan was killed on the street at Ajegunle-Ijada, Muyiwa was allegedly murdered in his sleep inside his master’s shop located at No. 13, Ishado Street, for wearing a blue T-shirt.
Head of Ijebu-Ode vigilance group, Mr. Yemi Odukoya, said the death of the apprentices might be connected with the killing of a member of Eiye cult group by rival group on Tuesday night.
According to him, the group that lost its member was on a revenge mission, killing members of the rival cult whom they visited at home and places of work and anyone associated with them.
Odukoya, who lamented the rampant killings said his group could not do much due to limited resources to work with.
It was gathered that the killer group had come for one Ezekiel, Adeyemi’s boss, but the latter was killed because he wore a blue T-shirt, which is said to be one of their colours.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested 80 suspects in connection with the killings of three apprentices in Ijebu-Ode.
