Hoodlums set lecturer’s house ablaze

 There was confusion  in Araromi Area of Oyo East Local Government Area, Oyo State, Tuesday when suspected hoodlums set the house of a lecturer at the Agricultural  Science Department, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Mr Ayo Alaka, ablaze.

According to an eyewitness, the hoodlums stormed the house around 11.30 pm on the fateful day with a keg of petrol, loaves of bread and dangerous weapons.
The sources added that the hoodlums arrived the community on commercial motorcycles popularly called okada. The eyewitness, who gave his name simply as Adebayo, further said: “Members of the households were already asleep when the men stormed the area. The gate of the house was already locked. It was dark at the time and we could see the hoodlums throwing loaves of bread soaked with fuel into the house from outside since they could not enter through the gate. They then set the gate on fire”.
Although the house was not razed by fire, a blue Toyota Camry car marked Lagos FST 524AV and a silver coloured Honda Civic car with registration number Lagos CW 318 AP were burnt.
