Female student pours hot water on lover

A 19-year-old female student of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, simply identified as Yetunde, is cooling off in the custody of the state Police command, Osogbo, for allegedly pouring hot water on her lover, Adelana also a student of the polytechnic.

Also arrested along with Yetunde, was her father, who was said to be assisting the Police in their findings on the matter.
Yetunde allegedly poured hot water on Adelana, a Higher National Diploma (HND) student of the polytechnic during a disagreement between them, a day after Adelana’s birthday celebration in Iree.
The National Diploma student of the polytechnic was said to have disagreed with her lover  before the birthday ceremony and stayed away from the celebration.
The ugly incident according to findings, happened at the Miracle Hall, located close to the Baptist High School where both Yetunde and Adelana reside.
It was gathered that Adelana celebrated his birthday with other friends, including ladies and this did not go down well with his girlfriend, who allegedly attacked him with hot water.
It was gathered that Adelana’s chest, neck and right hand were severely affected and he was rushed to a private hospital in the town.
When contacted, the Media Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Tope Abiola said that the management could not do anything about the incident because it took place outside the campus of the institution .
He said “It’s very unfortunate and we sympathize with the victim and his parents.
“It’s a criminal act; the school does not have power over it. It all happened in Iree town, so, there is nothing the school can do about it.  “Notwithstanding, we urge the law enforcement agency to investigate the matter.”
