IGP Abubakar weds Zahra, daughter of ex-FCT minister

It was a gathering of the nation’s power brokers as the Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Mohammed Abubakar got wedded to his heartthrob Zahra Fatima Bunu  in Abuja. Zarha is daughter of a one-time FCT Minister, Mr Ibrahim Bunu.

The couple was joined together by the Grand Imam of the National Mosque Ustaz Mohammed Musa after Vice President Namadi Sambo gave the bride 20 pieces of gold as sadaaq (token of love from the groom, a precondition for Islamic marriage).
Family, friends and well wishers of the couple moved to the This Day Dome for the brief but well-attended wedding reception.
Making the only speech at the reception, former minister of agriculture, Alhaji.  Adamu Bello thanked the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
He expressed optimism that the couple would live according to the tenets of Islam.
He said thanked Vice President Namadi Sambo, two former Heads of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, along with all the dignitaries for their presence at the mosque.
