Cross Rivers State Governor, Liyel Imoke and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart
Godswill Akpabio will be honoured in the fourth edition of the Niger Delta
Achievers Merit Awards (NDAMA) billed for Cross River.
According to the spokesperson of the
organising committee of the award, Koyoyo Uhrorho, this year’s award has 38
Individuals and Corporate categories, with nominees from the 9 Niger Delta
states, selected through a rigorous process.
Reputed to be the leading recognition awards in the region, NDAMA organizers said the nominees have contributed to the overall development of Niger Delta through their diligence, moral refinement, patriotism, selflessness and pragmatic approach in their chosen fields.

Uhrorho said the award is aimed at
celebrating the foresight and vision of men and women in the region who have
stood out to promote lasting peace, growth of the region’s economy, good
governance, and reduction of youth restiveness and creation of job
opportunities.
He said a paper will be delivered by the
Director General of NESREA Dr (Mrs.) Ngeri Benebo on the theme:
Industrialisation of the Niger Delta- Issues, Challenges and Solutions.
