Lagos Police boss, Manko, honourned

Lagos State Police Commissioner Umar Manko has been honoured with an award as ‘The Best Commissioner of Police in Community Policing’ at the last edition of Celebrity Award Night held at Golden Tulip Hotels, Lagos. Based on the same achievement and exploits, Salford Newspaper, an evening newspaper in Manchester, United Kingdom also gave him an award as ‘The Best Commissioner of Police in Nigeria for the year 2013. ’
Editor of Crime Watch magazine, Ohi Akpengbe, while presenting the award to the police boss, said Lagos which has been a dunhill for all kinds of criminal activities ranging from armed robbery, burglary, smuggling, drug peddling, obtaining by false pretense has witnessed tremendous change under the leadership of CP Manko.
"Dedication to duty also comes with sincerity of purpose, while for the people to be sincere in their work place they must love the job for which they are employed. Such people discharge their duties effectively without being influenced negatively and without expecting an undue reward or remuneration from their bosses or members of the public. In other words, such individual are always willing to render a selfless, service to mankind whenever and wherever the need arises for the sake of posterity.
It is based on such selfless services that we honor CP Manko," he said.
