Bring your investments home, Igbo businessmen urged

Proprietor and Chief Executive Officer of Rojenny Tourist Village, Oba, Anambra State Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has appealed to wealthy men of Igbo extraction to have a re-think towards investing outside the south east region of the country.

Chief Ezeonwuka, the Ogirisi-Igbo frowned at the magnitude the region’s wealth are scattered outside Igboland, stressing that the recent victory by the region’s party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra governorship poll is such hope that can speed up massive investment in the state if wealthy men from the region redirect their investments towards the region.
He words: “We must take their destiny in their hands and nobody will ever dictate or manipulate us for selfish interest again. Let our moneybags invest their money in our land so that our teeming jobless youths can get employed. I am not saying that Igbo shall not invest in other region they find business conducive, but a situation where an Igbo man invests over N10 billion outside his state without a kobo in his state of origin is pure stupidity. There are things we must do to enable us keep a legacy for up coming generation. A lot of our wealthy sons and daughters have died, with their businesses falling apart due of lack of focus. Let our sons and daughters in the Diaspora come back home and help build the region. Today our institutions of learning are producing unemployable graduates who lack the necessary skills to manage established companies. We must combine skill acquisition in our school curriculum to avoid a situation where illiterate graduates will continue to parade our cities with valueless certificates.”
