The Ogirisi Igbo,
Chief Rommy Amandi Ezeonwuka has congratulated Chief Willie Obianor for winning
the Anambra gubernatorial election under the platform of the All Progressives
Grand Alliance (APGA), saying the party will soon take over other southeast
states.
Ezeonwuka who stated
that he predicted victory for the banker turned politician, said the only party
that the Igbo need at this time is APGA. “I said it earlier before the election
and I make bold to say again that Igbo need APGA as the only party that can
transform our dream. It is the only party we can stand on to speak with one
voice. As the only Igbo party, it is strong enough to negotiate an alliance
with other political parties in the case of presidential election.
He added: “Igbo have
matured in politics. The era of use and dump is over. Igbo can no longer be
intimidated. With this victory, let us stand together as one so that when we
negotiate, it will be with one voice. I thank God for Governor Peter Obi and
Sir Victor Umeh for doing everything possible to rescue and sustain this great
party. I thank the Arewa people in Anambra State and the youths of Igbo Ga adi
Nma for giving APGA all the needed support in winning the election.”
He called on other
candidates to congratulate the winner and join hands with him to move the state
forward. “In election only one winner can emerge. I commend all the candidates
for their great campaigns, which touched all nooks and corners of Anambra
State. Chief Obiano has won this election under APGA, there are things he must
do to stabilize the Igbo nation. The burial of war heroes must be performed in
the nearest future to help calm down the numerous wondering spirits that have
afflicted our land. Tackling youth
unemployment must be in the front burner of the in-coming governor. I pray and
decree, as Ogirisi –Igbo, that the problem that normally happens between a
governor and his successor will not happen between the great visionary man of
our time Mr. Peter Obi and Willie Obiano. I call on sycophants to steer clear from Obiano so as
not to confuse him through wrong advice.”
