2 men arraigned for raping 15-year-old girl

Two young men have been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State, south west Nigeria.
According to Daily Sun, the suspects, Azeez kehinde (20), Adeyanju Ismaila (23) were alleged to have defiled and assaulted the girl simply identified as Pepeye  at Igbo-Ile area of Ikirun. The police prosecutor, Mirette Wilson, told the court that the two accused men by their action committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Sections 516,358 and 360 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
When the plea was taken, both Kehinde and Ismaila pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
Counsel to the accused persons, Mr. Adedokun Tunde, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms. He also presented an affidavit sworn to by a member of the family of the accused persons to the court as evidence that they were willing to stand their trial.
The Magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko lamented the involvement of young men in criminal activities especially the rate at which females were being defiled in the state which he noted had contributed to the congestion of the state prisons.
He granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till December 6, 2013 for mention.
