2 women, others arraigned for N135m theft

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC),  has arraigned two businesswomen and a man alongside their companies before a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja over alleged stealing of N135 million belonging to Lily Pond Container Ltd.

The defendants are Opeyemi Egbeyemi 50; Tejumola Okemakinde, 28; Olukayode Adeoye, 32 and Tejumola Dovytes Ventures Ltd., Whales & Chase Nigeria Ltd and Tejumola Onike Enterprises Ltd.
They were arraigned before Justice Olutoyin Ipaye.
Counsel to EFCC, Fadeke Giwa, told the court that the defendants conspired with one Irene Egbeyemi, now at large, to steal the money belonging to Lily Pond Container Ltd., between May and September 2011, at Apapa area of Lagos.
Justice Ipaye ordered that the defendants be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter till November 11 for hearing of their bail applications.
