MASSOB reaffirms support for APGA

The Anambra State chapter of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has expressed support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State.
The group said it is the only party the late Ikemba, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu supported, while he was alive.

In a statement, MASSOB commander in Anambra State, Maxwell Adiukwu said it is time the Igbo take their destinies in their hands, stressing that APGA remains the only Igbo party.
Adiukwu called on those using the late Ikemba’s name for selfish purpose to desist, as according to him, “Igbo people are now wiser than before.”
He said: “All those using Ojukwu’s name and MASSOB for their selfish gains should desist henceforth. The people are now wise. APGA is Igbo party and MASSOB will support Igbo party. I call on our governor, Peter Obi and APGA chairman, Chief Victor Umeh to disregard earlier publication that MASSOB is not for APGA.
The truth is that some of these so-called people who are against APGA are not registered voters. They cannot even vote in the coming election in Anambra. How can you convince someone to vote for the party of your choice when you cannot even cast a vote.”
He added: “We have lost so much, both in monetary terms, jobs and lives to the extent that hundreds of our members have died in the struggle and many are still in prison and in mortuaries. We, Massobians in Anambra have adopted APGA as the party we must support to win the November 16 election and no individual with selfish interest can stop that. MASSOB is for Igbo, Igbo is Ojukwu, APGA is our identity. Any contrary is a betrayal.”
