Anambra poll: Onitsha traders urged to vote credible candidate

President of the New Motor Tire and Tube Market Union, Nkpor, Onitsha, Anambra State, Chief Sunday Ezenwobi has called on all traders to ensure that they come out en masse and vote for the candidate of their choice in order to move the state to a higher level.
Ezenwobi, who lauded the Peter Obi-led administration, said the governor has ensured excellence service delivery, cutting across all sectors. “ In my assessment, Governor Obi has done wonderfully well and thus has put down a tasking standard for his successor and future leaders of the state. We are looking forward to a hitch-free election and we will be backing it up with prayers and massive participation. I can tell you that traders in this market are ready to go out to vote for their choice candidates on that day,” he said.
He added: “ This state government do not joke with traders. Knowing fully well that traders are major stakeholders in the city of Onitsha, Governor Peter Obi does not tolerate anything capable of disturbing us. If you look around the state you will discover that all markets in Onitsha have proper access roads, and every market can comfortably boast of government’s presence in one form or the. So traders and government are enjoying good relationship.”
“As Christians cutting across Catholic, Anglican, Methodist and Pentecostals. We have a strong prayer group that conducts weekly prayer for us. So as part of our effort to support our prayers with thanksgiving to God in appreciation of His blessings, we decided to initiate the program of giving aids to the needy, cutting across the motherless babies homes, disabled homes, and the destitute. We also contribute to assist those of us who have financial breakdown as a result of misfortune in business. As Christians we have to be our brothers’ keeper, this is our ideology in this market because we know that government alone cannot do it.”
