2015: Igbo leader drums support for APGA candidates

Ahead of the February 2015 general election, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Ogirisi Igbo, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has called on Ndigbo to support all APGA who emerged victorious in the recently concluded party primaries.

“Let us vote APGA candidates into the Senate, House of Representatives and state Houses of Assembly. We have adopted President Goodluck Jonathan as the party’s sole presidential candidates and we will vote him in a second term. But for other positions, APGA will emerge victorious,” he said.
The Proprietor and CEO of Rojenny Games and Tourist Village Oba in Anambra State said he is optimistic that those who have won the ticket to fly the party’s flag in next year’s election are tested and trusted. “These are credible hands that are capable to serve the people in various capacities as Federal and State lawmakers. And I assure Ndigbo that they will not disappoint if given the mandate to serve,” he said.

He added:  "APGA has the culture of good performance in office and the records are there courtesy of those who have had the opportunity to serve on the platform of the party. Look at what Governor Willie Obiano is doing in Anambra State. Every week is filled with developmental wonders. I urge all APGA candidates, when they eventually get elected to take a cue from the governor. Let them have it at the back of their mind that the people comes first.”
He enjoined the candidates to embark on issue based campaign with decent and legitimate tools of propaganda and mobilization of eligible voters for support and avoid name-calling, attack dogs, back-biting and blackmailing of opponents, stressing that he will unleash Ogirisi on politicians who attempt to rig election.
