Verizon has agreed to pay $130 billion to take full control of Verizon Wireless from U.K. partner Vodafone, the companies said Monday.

UN: 5 million displaced inside Syria

Six killed in another attack in Plateau

The Plateau State Government has condemned Sunday night’s killing of six members of two families in their homes at Kungte village in Jos South Local Government Area of the state. Khloe Kardashian tweets she isn't "made of steel" after lamar's DUI arrest

Khloe Kardashian seemingly isn't going to keep her marital woes quiet for much longer. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star opened up for the second time on Twitter since husband Lamar Odom's DUI arrest on August. 30, and hints that she's trying to be as strong as possible amid her marriage woes.

"As much as I wish I were made of steel...I'm not," the 29-year-old wrote. The reality star seemed to imply that she's dealing with her very public marriage problems and Odom's substance abuse as best as she can. She added: "I'm pretty damn close to it though hehe." She previously tweeted to "smile and no one will notice," but has since taken that comment down.

FG to unleash EFCC on rebel govs

Twenty-four hours after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its mini national convention which produced a splinter group, the Federal Government is set to punish the arrowheads. These are the seven governors who led other chieftains of the party to hold a parallel convention last Saturday in Abuja. They were joined by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, believed to be promoting the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) which was registered last month.
The government may unleash the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on them. The anti-graft agency is set to scrutinise the financial books of the seven governors.

24 youth volunteers killed in Boko Haram ambush

No fewer than 24 youth volunteers popularly known as Civilian JTF were killed yesterday when Boko Haram insurgents ambushed the vigilance group in Monguno, northern Borno. Sources also said many of the volunteers are still missing.
